I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

I love the account in John chapter 9 of the man, blind from birth, healed by Jesus. If you can, read the story before reading this.
Of course the Pharisees were not going to let Jesus get away with such a miracle! They tried – and failed, to pick holes in this healing and then in the very character of Jesus. After questioning the man who had been healed, people who knew the man and even his parents, to verify the validity of His claims, they had no choice other than to admit that it was true – the man had been healed. The Pharisees were fuming! The best ‘sting in the tail’ they could come up with was ‘ how could a sinner who ignores the Sabbath heal anyone?’
But the evidence was overwhelming. The formerly blind man stood in front of them and said “I don’t know whether he is a sinner, But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” (John‬ ‭9:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Charles Darwin an English naturalist, geologist and biologist, was best known for contributions to the (so called) ‘science’ of evolution. His theories, which really make little sense, remain part of the education system in many countries and a staggering amount of Christians even hold to some Darwinism theories.
Albert Einstein is noted as the genius and physicist who
“changed the way we see the world”. His formula of E=mc2 revolutionized scientific thought and brought us into the nuclear age. His “Theory of Relativity” reasoned that since everything in the universe is in motion, all knowledge is a matter of perspective. Einstein believed that the speed of light is the only constant by which we can measure space, time, or physical mass.

Long before either of these scientists, ‘revered’ by men, ever lived, Jesus talked about the role of light in understanding our world. But he spoke from a totally different perspective. He said that He, Jesus, is the light of the world. And that if we would only follow Him, we wouldn’t have to walk in darkness anymore because we would have the light that leads to life!
Hardly cold in their graves yet, these two so called great scientists, quoted and read about, can be disproved – Einstein’s ideas would later be proven rather difficult to test and Darwin’s theories totally debunked.
Jesus’ claims however CAN be tested, even today, two thousand years later! In fact, Jesus Christ is alive and still working miracles in the hearts and lives of people to this day.
How do you argue with someone, known by everyone to be blind from birth, who now stands before everybody as overwhelming evidence and says ‘this man healed me’?
How do you refute the change in the life of a young woman, destroyed by drugs, prostitution and countless abortions, who now leads a young mother’s Bible study?
How do you tell a man that Jesus is not who He says He is, who was dying of cancer, given three months to put his affairs in order, who then goes for a scan after prayer for healing, to find no trace of cancer anywhere in his body?

How do you explain the billions upon billions of Christian believers across the world who say ‘Jesus changed my life!’?
I know that He transformed my life! Because I personally know Him.
We can invite Jesus into our daily lives and walk in step with Him. And we can see for ourselves that He can change our perspective on everything. He is, IN FACT (not just theory) ‘the light of the world’.

  1. Man’s theories are always wrong, especially the scientists. Even when they were trying to know the shape of the earth Job had already said it is spherical and hanging upon nothing.
The Bible is greater than any scientific theory.
Jesus Christ is the light, without Him the earth will be in darkness.
